Day 1 – Arrive in Calgary, Alta.

Arrive in Calgary at specified accommodation.  Group dinner and orientation in the evening.  Airport pick-up included.

Day 2 – Cochrane, Alta. to Banff, Alta.  (102 km)

Perfectly positioned for a breathtaking introduction to cycling in Canada, the day ahead will take you from one of the largest prairie flatlands in the world to the awe-inspiring foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  Riding alongside scenic Ghost Lake, Alta, you will be witness to towering granite rock faces soaring thousands of metres above the valley bottom, home to ancient glaciers, emerald lakes and powerful rivers feeding this abundant landscape.  To enhance your cycling experience, Noble Adventures will take you on secondary roadways (when available) to ensure your ride into Kananaskis Country and the Bow River Valley is as peaceful and serene as the landscape through which you ride!

Day 3 – Banff, Alta. to Saskatchewan River Crossing, Alta.  (138 km)

Leaving a mountain town like Banff, Alta can be a challenge, but when you consider the day ahead, you will ride into the mountains without hesitation.  The Columbia Icefield Parkway is a diverse landscape of unforgettable mountain passes, massive sub-alpine valleys, emerald-cloured lakes and glacier fed rivers.  With over one hundred enormous glaciers within view of todays ride, your appreciation for cycling in the outdoors along one of the most renowned sections of Canadian roadway will leave butterflies in your stomach and a smile on your face from sunrise to sunset.

Day 4 – Saskatchewan River Crossing, Alta. to Jonas Creek, Alta.  (88 km)

A continuation of the Columbia Icefield Parkway, the day ahead is as rewarding as the previous two days.  Behold stunning mountains, glaciers galore, spectacular scenery and powerful rivers carving out valleys dating back to the last ice age.  Lets not forget the opportunity to witness wildlife in this pristine ecosystem: bear, cougars, moose, caribou and bighorn sheep are present on the ground, as raptors soar high above.

Day 5 – Jonas Creek, Alta. to Jasper, Alta. (65 km)

The ride from Jonas Creek to Jasper is an unforgettable one as the climate and therefore, the biodiversity changes from lush, temperate forest filled with douglas fir, birch, poplar and aspen to a landscape covered primarily by lodgepole pine trees on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains.  Yet, the ride into Jasper and the Athabasca River Valley is no less stunning than any other day on this journey.  From an ecological standpoint, it may trump any other day of this unforgettable journey!

Day 6 – Jasper, Alta. to Valemount, B.C. (124 km)

Your ride through the Canadian Rocky Montains would not be complete without a visit to Mt Robson Provincial Park, home to the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies!  Your last day in the Rocky Mountains is an epic one as you ride through green clad mountains on the western slops of the Rockies to the picturesque town of Valemount, B.C., where the Rocky, Monashee and Cariboo Mountain ranges collide. As a result, this region is home to some of the best outdoor recreation possibilities anywhere in Canada, including cycling!
